Writing together adds so much mutual support and folks can spark each other -- but it also adds layers of complexity. Y'all are so brave, and I love that you're finding your way!
HaHa, dynamic duo—I’ll have to tell Denise! The incredible thing is that our writing is so similar that it’s relatively easy to pull it together. An unexpected bonus :-)
I think it would be great fun to be in a writer's group like this. I might be projecting, but I had pictured this first as side-by-side writing, you were each writing your own seasoned romance rather than a large collaboration. I would really love something like that, but this could have its own unique flavor. I miss the camaraderie of collaboration.
The camaraderie is very much a part of it, Julie, yes! That is why it's upsetting and challenging when we have these glitches. Everyone has to be willing to bring the journey back on track. Fingers crossed we can make it through to the end without any more big issues arising!
I know I would be unpopular for saying it in any group, but I would NEVER EVER take part in a group writing project. Even two people (and I have collaborated in some of my books) is difficult. There is too much conflict of egos, inevitably sacrificing the integrity of the writing process. But good luck to you. The proof will be in the pudding!
I must agree there have been challenges, but it's been interesting and an opportunity to learn, adjust and develop. I love the group as it challenges me to write in a range of different styles about topic's I'd never thought of. Keeps me on my toes.
I would too in the situation, but not saying the word doesn’t take away the problem. Sounds like you are finding it fun, so that’s great, but if I were part of the group I would be out of there !!

Thanks, Stella. It has been challenging, but a wonderful learning curve!
A dynamic duo! Writing together adds to accountability.

I have carefully avoided the use of the word 'ego'!!!
